Yesterday I asked, "Which of this year's Oscar-nominated films has a song called "Vampire" in its soundtrack?" The answer? Juno. The song is performed by a band called Antsy Pants, and if you want to hear it, here's a link to several YouTube videos featuring it.
We own the Juno soundtrack, and my kids absolutely love it. We have to skip track 8 because of its language, but we listen to the soundtrack in the car pretty often. If you have kids and would enjoy a break from typical kiddie selections like Barney and Hannah Montana--and if you're not opposed to a little alternative music yourself--I highly recommend it. Both my 8-year-old and my 3-year-old always ask me to turn up the first track, "All I Want Is you" by Barry Louis Polisar, which, if you've seen Juno, is the song that's playing over the opening credits when she's downing Sunny D in partial cartoon format. Polisar is a children's author and musician.
