Here's the official announcement from Publishers Marketplace:
Cat Winters's IN THE SHADOW OF BLACKBIRDS, the story of a teen girl mourning the loss of her first love in 1918 California, where a flu has turned deadlier than a world war, and spirit communication has become a dark and dangerous obsession, illustrated with early-twentieth-century photographs, to Maggie Lehrman at Amulet, by Barbara Poelle of Irene Goodman Agency (World English).
Foreign rights: Heather Shapiro at Baror International
I'll be chronicling my journey into print at www.catwinters.com, as well as at twitter.com/catwinters and facebook.com/catwintersbooks. I'll also be sending out updates (the book's Goodreads debut, cover art reveals, events, giveaways, etc.) through my mailing list.
I'm so proud of this book and can't wait to share it with everyone!

Congratulations!!!!
:D
Thanks so much, Mara!
That is so great, Catherine! It sounds really good. I remember hearing about that flu outbreak back then. This really sounds good. I'll be looking forward to reading it!
Thanks, Lorelei! To put a trendy spin on it, that's the same flu that tried to kill Edward Cullen from TWILIGHT (but that's NOT the reason I wrote about it!!). I've been fascinated by the quest for spirit communication in that era for a long while.
Congratulations, Cathy! I'm so excited for you!!! It's going to be so fun seeing your book in the stores!!!! : )
Thank you, Ara!!
Congrats and wish you the best of luck!
Thanks, Michelle!
